He was either going to be head coach or he was going to
quit. Since it was clear that he wasn't going to be
head coach, whether he was released/fired or quit is
irrelevant to me.
I'm more upset that he wasn't given a shot at head
coach. I know he failed in Buffalo but that was a long
time ago and I assume he learned a thing or two from
Gibbs in terms of handling people and his own ego.
Without Williams we don't make the playoffs in either
2005 or 2007. He is obviously a good defensive
coordinator. He put together 3 top ten defenses in 4
years. That doesn't make him the best candidate for
head coach but I think he deserved a chance. If his
chance was blown because he doesn't get along with
Cerrato or because he wouldn't be another one of
Snyder's yes men then that's just sad.
