Brunell doesn't have a shot...
Deion Sanders might get in, but I think voters will
realize that he was more hype than anything.
There are only three guys on the team that I think have
a shot at the HOF in the future:
1) Clinton Portis - his numbers during his first six
season are incredible. Except for the 2006 season,
which he missed half of because of injury, 2007 was his
"worst" season in terms of total rushing yards with
1,262. That's his WORST season. If he plays like this
for another 4-6 years, I think he will have a good shot
at the HOF.
2) Chris Cooley - he has redefined the roll of a tight
end in this league. He can literally do it all; block,
catch, run, you name it, he'll burn you doing it.
Again, if he continues to play at a high level, he
could get some consideration for the HOF.
3) Chris Samuels - started off great, struggled for a
couple of years, but then rebounded to his former
all-pro status. This guys is a warrior. In eight
complete seasons, he has missed just four starts and
played in 124 of 128 games. For an o-lineman, that is
phenomenal.
