With the House barely approving Obama’s Goverment Option care plan how likely will the Senate pass it?

November 112009

In the Senate, where proposals differ substantially from the House-passed measure on issues like a government-run plan and how to pay for coverage, the bill is stalled while budget analysts assess its overall costs. The slim margin in the House — the bill passed with just two votes to spare, and 39 Democrats opposed it — suggests even greater challenges in the Senate, where the majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, is struggling to hold on to all 58 Democrats and two independents in his caucus.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/09/health/policy/09healthcare.html?_r=2&hp

Why is this bill even needed. Expansion of existing medical programs for the poor would have solved this ‘problem; without creating a whole new program.

Cavuto: Universal healthcare is terrorist recruitment tool

September 32009

+++UPDATE: WHO IS JERRY BOWYER, THE PERSON INTERVIEWED BY NEIL CAVUTO?+++

Well, he is a Neocon, deeply embedded in the “Network” of those so called “conservatives” – and in no way has he got any qualification to talk about healthcare:

http://tbogg.blogspot.com/2003/02/outing-bowyer-kevin-over-at-calpundit.html

http://tbogg.blogspot.com/2003/03/take-jerry-bowyer-challenge.html

In short:

Jerry Bowyer is the chairman of Bowyer Media, a company specializing in radio and television production, print and internet publishing and economic analysis.

He was also the President of the Allegheny Institute for Public Policy a few years ago (not any more!), a Pittsburgh- based conservative policy organization.

This organization gets financed by the foundations of Richard Mellon Scaife, the “infamous” ultraconservative billionaire.

About Richard Mellon Scaife:

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/04/27/scaife.profile/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Mellon_Scaife

“Washington Post” mentioning Scaife and Jerry Bowyer in 1999:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/scaifegraf050299.htm

For the record: Jerry Bowyer denies to be financed by Scaife – see here:

http://tbogg.blogspot.com/2003/03/take-jerry-bowyer-challenge.html

So, that’s a nice example how “independent” the guests on Fox are – and it is interesting that Jerry Bowyer gets practically no introduction by Neil Cavuto whatsoever – giving the impression that he is a competent, independent journalist or “expert” on the subject. But he is nothing more than a conservative “pundit”.

You will find more info about these “conservative foundations”, controlling at least 1 billion $ in ets, here:

http://mediatransparency.com/conservativephilanthropy.php

Lots of examples of Jerry Bower’s plain way of thinking can be found on his website:

http://www.jerrybowyer.com/

Another interesting thing:

If you google “Richard Scaife pharma” you come to this page:

http://www.ispe.org/cs/recorded_online_seminars/european_clinical_trial_directive_an_update_on_practical_aspects

(ISPE calls themselves the “largest non-for-profit society serving pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals”)

Richard Scaife is the Director of Business Development Quintiles Inc, a huge pharma company.

I believe that this Richards Scaife mentioned there is not “Richard Mellon Scaife”, the billionaire – but hey, I will eat my hat if they are not related :-)

Just as an example of how the corporate world is connected in the USA, and which role Fox News plays in there as the prime “corporate mouthpiece”…

MORE STUFF BY JERRY BOWYER:

Interviewing Donald Rumsfeld (to Rumsfeld: “I am a great admirer”):

Is this “your world”???

The universal healtcare systems in UK, Germany etc. support terrorism…?

Watch out for more Fox News spin about universal healthcare – we haven’t seen the end yet. “SiCKO” by Michael Moore has hit a nerve.

Reason or Mob Mentality?

August 292009

Today’s information can be obtain with the push of a button almost immediately. With so much information at our finger tips, how are we to decide what is true and what isn’t? While some may argue that news coverage is unbiased, I’d say it is now more than ever very slanted towards radical views of the far right. I consider myself to be a reasonable, independent American citizen, concerned with the state of our country at large. We have many national issues that severely need attention. Health care, the state of our young concerning education, the economy and lack of morally ethical business leaders who ship jobs off quicker than a duck mating. If we have learned anything from the last eight years it’s this; we the people can not put all of our trust in the hand of the bums in Washington to solve our problems. There are too busy lining the coats with money from corporations. Here’s my question: Have we really become a blinded bunch of people with mob mentality toward picking who should run our country, or is there hope that some us may actually use some reason to pick a person well suited to be the next president of the USA? I’m interested in your opinions.

i agree with you. our country has suffered greatly the last 8 yrs. i really dont think we, the ppl of the u.s have much say in the presidential elections. i think the whole electoral college is a bunch of b.s. used by the government as a way to swing the vote their own way. i think there is so much corruption in our government today that there is little hope we will recover from this. just look at how it was only 50 years ago. half the taxes that exist today did not exist then. our country really did have free speech and was about the workin man. the middle class made up most of the population. the government is slowly tryin to remove the middle class citizens. that way, the rich can have total control over the poor. soon our country will be under dictatorship. i wold say in the next 50 yrs. if we make it that long… just my opinion.

Healthcare Funeral Procession by the Pinellas Patriots

August 282009

South Pinellas 9.12 Patriots stage our 2nd 30 mile, 15 car Health care funeral procession through Central Pinellas county on July 26th.

Central Florida’s Pinellas Patriots stage the second funeral procession by proclaiming the death of liberty, health care, and every constitutional right we once knew and took for granted.

EVERY COUNTY, EVERY CITY, EVERY MUNICIPALITY should organize a funeral procession of their own. Don your vehicles with flags and signs to “enlighten”, your fellow citizens. Simply drive a few miles under the speed limit, put on your lights and hazards, and have fun! This is also another way to promote your Tea Parties, the Washington 9.12 March, and local 9.12 groups as well !!!

Is it at all surprising that of the 2 health care plans posed to us by the candidates…?

August 272009

I’m reposting this question because all the responses to my previous one either deviated from the topic or didn’t go into the issue much at all.

Obama’s is the one that corporations like more? Here’s why:
Health care plans for employees cost money. Normally, that money isn’t taxed by the federal government, but McCain plans to tax it. Non partisan groups of business owners such as he U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable and the National Federation of Independent Business said this would force them to shell out more money into them, something which many small businesses are incapable of doing. Moreover, even large businesses, when asked if they were willing to put more into it, largely said no. The majority said they would have to reduce funding that goes into their health care coverage. Only 4% of those surveyed said they would increase funding for it. Meanwhile, Obama’s plan lowers premiums on these health care programs, thereby saving money for business owners and people overall. It also helps more people because it follows premium inflation, while McCain’s is a stagnant 5 thousand dollar tax credit that changes only mildly over time (at the rate of inflation, which is 4 times less than the rate at which premiums increase).

The link below provides practically all the information I have here and a lot more.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/07/us/politics/07health.html?_r=2&em=&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

There’s really no issue to debate in your question. Any reasonable person that can think for themselves would choose the Obama plan. In the meantime, McCain continues to howl day in and day out that Obama will be the perpetrator of future tax increases.

Would you vote for me if I ran on this platform?

August 252009

I would run as independent candidate under my own party.
I am only 16 but in the future i plan to make a bid for governor and then possibly president

Economics:
I support a tax cut of 12% for every income of less than $400,000/yr.
I want a tax increase of 3% on anyone that earns more than $400,000/yr.
i support a national flat sales tax of 4%

I want a plan that will establish a tax of only 1% on any industry that comes into the U.S.This will last for a period of 8 years. Then the tax will increase 1% every year for 5 years. This will create jobs and expand our economy allowing businesses to grow.

I will threaten industries that have outsourced our jobs. I will stand up to them and tell them that if they do not return home and create jobs here than I will place a very large tariff on them.

I want to cut any unnecessary and ridiculous spending that is going on in Washington.

Social Issues:

I support abortion in cases of rape, incest, or when the mother’s life is at risk.

I support homosexual civil unions and an amendment to define a civil union as the union between two consenting adults. When it comes to marriage, a church can make its own decisions on that.

Foreign affairs:
I support the deportation of illegal aliens from the U.S.I would increase the amount of raids.
I would fund a bigger wall with new technology to stop the influx of illegal aliens.

I believe in diplomacy. In working with other countries to solve global problems.

I think that Puerto Rico, Guam, and American Samoa should be admitted as states into the U.S.
I believe that health care is a right and that everyone should have access to it. So I want people to decide whether they want to keep their private healthcare or pay coverage through the government, with a type of card that would be provided to them. The card would cover the family. The owner of the card would be able to add funds but not take out, an additional 3,500 dollars will be added to the card annually from income tax collected.
I would eliminate the current welfare and food stamp system and replace it will a system in which families that apply after 3 months of vigorous investigation would receive a "gift card" from the government of 300 dollars and it would be cashed at any bank. In order to qualify the person must maintain a stable job and have ample proof.
Education is extremely important to me.
Public Schools will be completely reformed.
Access to better textbooks and internet will be mandatory.
Also teachers will be better trained.

Energy:
We need to use our own natural gas and clean coal technology.
Our government needs to invest in nuclear, solar, and wind.
We have to force the auto-industry to make more gas efficient automobiles.

You’d have my vote in a heartbeat…sadly, though, the more ignorant populous of this great country would think you insane. Alas, the stupid are many.
