Besides Taxes, What is the real difference between McCain and Obama?

August 232009

Yes, I know that McCain wants to stay in Iraq but is willing to pull troops out under the right circumstances. Obama is against drilling but is willing to listen. The republican is agaisnt abortion and the dem is for it (as they have to be)

Both want to increase troops in Afghanistan!
Neither is talking about border security!
Neither is talking about social security!
Neither is talking about our constitutional rights like illegal wire tapping!
Neither is talking about fixing the income taxes!

All they do is make fun of one another and they sound like idiots!
Is anyone else sick of this media coverage of these two puppets?
Im voting independent as a vote of no confidence in either party.
Like Jesse Ventura said "its like picking between coke or pepsi, one is just a bit sweeter"
Thoughts???

Good question VC. I have no confidence also.
There is no real big difference between them just like you quoted "coke or pepsi". Where are the other choices??? There not in the media that’s for sure!!!

As I read through the already answered questons I’m so dissapointed of how uninformed and the lack of education the majority of people have. These canidates are not true public servants and neither stand for what this country was built for. These guys will twist and turn everything as they see fit to benefit themselves NOT the american people. Neither of them have any real backbone to address the real problems this country has as you mentioned.
Starting with abortion and the neo-con religious freaks, you should never ban it. You would have teenage girls trying to attempt it themselves. There response would of course be to educate them better which I agree with, but my response is they have never spent any time in lower class society (the real world) where it is not a utopian environment.
Afganistan??? Here’s the next money pit with no end in sight. Are’nt we learning from Iraq? What the hell are we doing there? We have NOT accomplished anything over there except for greiving family and friends of deceased loved ones. We went there under false pretences and any canidate who supports not pulling out immediatly is not what’s best for this country.
Border security??? What a joke!!! Like you said nobody is talking about this. Let’s spend some of that Iraq money here screening who comes in and out of this country. I grew up in Detroit and witnessed the poor security in and out of Canada and I also vacationed on the border of Texas and Mexico, there is pretty much no security at all. If you’ve been there you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Social security??? Let the next guy worry about that is the impression I get from these guys.
Wire tapping…..my personal pet pieve. This has gotten way out of control since 911 (patriot act). Neither canidate has even brought this up to my knowledge and it’s because they support it. Since when is the CIA supposed to gather intelligence on us? In their mission statement it explains that there purpose is to gather intelligence on FOREIGN country’s. Neither of these guys will help our privacy….especially McCain. Don’t want to say to much more on this issue….Big Brother is watching
Income tax….The system we have does not work and anyone who thinks it does must be a bearucrat of the CENTRAL BANK. Once again neither canidate has said a peep about improving this. The income tax is a complete violatoin to boot. The 16th amendment was never even truly ratified. All they do talk about is tweeking a few things here and there…..6 one way….1/2 a dozen another….they’re both the same.
Constitution……Neither of these guys would make our forefathers proud. They will never commit to something like our forefathers did that wrote and followed the constitution. They will always stay in a relatively gray area so they can retract a statement or act instead of having some backbone and turning words into action.
Sorry if I made this a little lengthy but I’m very passionet of my rights and country. These reasons are why I will be voting 3rd party.
At least I’m being true to myself and not voting for the lesser of two evils like many people do. If we don’t start voting another way it will never change. The key is to just start, don’t wait untill everybody else does it.

Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani on Thursday warned the electronic media to refrain from airing any ‘derogatory comment or slogans’ against the armed forces and the judiciary.

“The media should observe the rules of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) and the government will also strictly implement these rules and will not allow anyone to malign the armed forces, the judiciary or any other constitutional institutions,” he said, while addressing a press conference here on Thursday.

He came down hard on the electronic media for airing speeches and slogans during the live coverage of the Supreme Court Bar ociation seminar, saying that it was felt that some people ‘misused’ the freedom, while attempting to malign or defame institution of armed forces. “This cannot and shall not be allowed by the government as the Constitution and the laws made under that constitution are clear on the subject and every patriotic citizen has to abide by these laws,” he added.

He said all steps would be taken to ensure that the instructions and the code of ethics issued by the Supreme Court are abided by all. “But for the last three months derogatory remarks are being used against these institutions at different levels. The government condemns this irresponsible attitude and no one would be allowed to do so, he said.

He said the president has sent a reference against the chief justice as per Constitution and there is nothing personal in this regard. “But this is very unfortunate to note that since filing of the reference, harsh and irresponsible attitude has been adopted by some individuals and groups towards the national institutions including the Army and the judiciary,” he said.

Responding to a question regarding the Pemra, the minister said that it was an autonomous body working under the Cabinet Division. But after the passage of Cross Media Rights Act, the Pemra was transferred under the administrative control of the Ministry of Information, which was already looking after the matters of the rest of the media.

He said that the electronic media should observe the Pemra rules. He said that from now on, the electronic media talk shows, live programmes and other programmes would have to observe the sanctity of the judiciary. “Those societies turn into jungle where the supremacy of the rule of law is not observed,” he said. Responding to another query, the minister said the Pemra laws are clear and no one has the right to exceed them.

“The government is investigating the threats hurled at some journalists in Karachi,” he added. Durrani said this was much shocking to note that the national media, for which President Musharraf had taken revolutionary steps to ensure its independence, also toed this irresponsible approach. “President Musharraf, since 1999, has taken unprecedented steps for the freedom of press. Now Pakistan is the only country in the entire Muslim World and the South Asia that has totally free and independent media,” he said.

The minister, however, said that since March 9, the electronic media has adopted quite irresponsible attitude towards the judicial matter. He said that the electronic media aired such talk shows and live coverage in which objectionable language was used against national institutions, including the armed forces and the judiciary. Likewise, the print media also ignored these directions and they made successive lapses in this regard,” he added.

Durrani said even the directions of the apex court of the country were totally ignored and such an environment was created that the entire nation was in a shock that what was happening in the country.

The minister said that the government, however, always fully observed the sanctity of the superior judiciary and followed the instructions of the apex court. He said that nobody should have any doubt in this regard.

Durrani said the armed forces have always offered sacrifices for the sanctity and security of the country but the media also aired such a derogatory and humiliating remarks, slogans and speeches against the armed forces, which were not only regrettable but objectionable as well.

He said no sovereign country could allow such an irresponsible attitude towards its constitutional institutions and no individual or groups could be allowed to do so. “The national interest should be kept supreme and no political party or group should be allowed to adopt negative attitude. He said that this negative propaganda would also affect the direct foreign investment in the country and thus it would harm the national institutions. The minister said that the people of the country are concerned about this negative development and they are asking the government what was happening in the country. Durrani was accompanied by Secretary Information Syed Anwar Mehmood and PIO Chaudhry Rasheed.

Moderates / Independents – The right gave you Reagan and the Left has given you Obama?

August 212009

Which one do you like better and why?

If you don’t remember Reagan look him up. Reagan was a true conservative, he believed in the power, justice, Liberty and freedom of the free market with limited government. He believed, the USA was the greatest country in history, with the near perfect constitution and the wisdom of the Founding Fathers. He believe government was the problem and strict adherence to the constitution was the solution. He believed non democratic socialistic countries are or could become our potential enemies so he did everything in his power to destroy or limit the power of these countries. Reagan, Thatcher, and the Pope are most credited in the fall of the Soviet Union.

Liberals hated Reagan and still do today. They hated him because like Obama was so good at communicating to people like you the moderates and the independents. He inherited a rotten economy and turned it around creating millions of jobs and helped minorities and the poor more than any president before him or since. This made Reagan the biggest threat and biggest enemy to liberals, socialist, marxists and fascist. Reagan was so popular with the working class he received a majority of the Union vote.

Obama – A product of liberalism progressive, socialism, marxism, fascism, how ever you would like to describe him, He too convinced the moderates and independents to vote for him. In fact he used much the same language to communicate to the moderates and the working class. i in fact know several moderates who loved Reagan and voted for Obama because they thought they were similar. Now we can see the difference between a populist from the right and a populist from the left. Obama believes the government is the solution to all our problems, he believes the constitution needs to be fixed and changed, he believes the US is a country that needs to be changed and is inherently bad, he believes we have nothing to fear from the many dictators around the world.

Conservatives hate Obama, for much the same reasons as the Liberals hated Reagan. Obama has convinced the moderates that socialism is not so bad, that the government can help, that taking over the banks was necessary, that taking over the car industry is essential, that protectionist trade policy is the best way to protect jobs, that government run healthcare is the solution not the problem. We don’t need more energy, we need more windmills.

Reagan and Obama have taken this country in opposite directions, so if you supported both of them, like many of my friends its now time to take sides. Obama is not a moderate, he is a radical left wing activist who wants to grow government, take over private industry and play nice with our enemies. Reagan would do the following economically right now. He would end the healthcare debate, he reform the tax code, he would give every individual a $2500 per year tax credit from healthcare, and a $500 tax credit for each child, the would tax employer paid benefits encouraging individuals to buy their own insurance, which would reduce the cost, make it more competitive, and make it portable (you would not lose healthcare coverage when you change jobs). He would put in place tort reform, he would close down fanny mae and Freddie mac that with the influence of the politicians were the reason we are in a recession now. He would not have bailed out the Wall street, he would have reduced government regulations on the auto industry and would let companies fail if they are not efficient. He would get 20 – 50 new nuclear power plants on-line within the next 10 years, he would allow for the use of clean coal, and oil drilling in Alaska, and off the coast.

And if history were to repeat itself North Korea and Iran would both have a popular upraising where democracy would win out over dictatorship without a shot being fired.

Okay Moderates its your chance to change the world, its your chance to move this country back to its roots of Jefferson, Adams, Smith, Washington, Lincoln, or more in the other direction towards, Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc… Make your choice and make it a good one, pretend your life and your future depends on it, because it does!

Answer the questions quick because Obama’s army run this website, they hate Reagan and love the direction this country is going in and they are dependent on the moderates staying out of the fight. This question will last in my estimate less than 60 mins.
Some interesting responses. 1) to my brit friend, yes Europe is more socailist than the USA but just a matter of time and degree. Not one of the European countries could defend themselves is that your goal for the USA too? And yes the take over of banks, auto, energy, and healthcare are examples of communism/Marxism/fascism take your pick. And yes I would have let them fail and then reorganize. 2) sorry I should have said true democracies that actually count the actual votes cast and allow an opposition canidate. Having something like the bill of rights would be a must too. 3) now can a moderate that voted or would have voted for Reagan and voted for Obama let’s here from you! I don’t really care what the socalist have to say

I’ll take Reagan over odopey anytime.

Laptop died, question about getting a refund via warranty?

August 192009

Alright, so my laptop went on me a couple months back and I sent it in to get repaired. Comes back, lasts a few weeks and dies on me again. I purchased a full coverage plan lasting 3 years from an independent company along with the laptop through OfficeMax. What are my chances of telling them I don’t want to deal with the stupid thing anymore and would just like the a check for the original amount in exchange for the faulty laptop?

If your persistant enough they might. Usually it has to break more than three times befor they will write you a check.
